International Crystal Manufacturing (ICM) manufactures a broad line
of custom quartz crystals. Quartz crystals are thin slices of quartz placed
between two electrodes, housed in a hermetically sealed package that provides
a means of connection to a circuit. An alternating voltage applied to
these electrodes causes the quartz to vibrate, or oscillate, at a particular
frequency.
The frequency is a function of the thickness of the crystal. By carefully
polishing or lapping a crystal, it can be made to oscillate at any frequency.
ICM manufactures our quartz crystals using tight production controls based
on our ISO 9001:2008 certification procedures.
Quartz crystal product types
ICM offers three major categories of quartz crystals:

Thru hole crystals
- leaded holder typically manually installed used for more demanding
applications than surface mount crystals.

Surface mount crystals
- leadless components designed for pick and place or automatic installation

Microprocessor crystals
- wide tolerance, cost-effective crystals, used for general timing
applications on fixed frequencies.
Ranges
ICM custom quartz crystals typically have frequency ranges of 32.768
KHz to 200 MHz. If your application requires higher frequencies, please

Typical applications
Quartz crystals are basically used for accurate timing and frequency
control. Quartz crystal applications include:
